Weston Select Board fills committee seats, adopts street safety measures
Select Board Rewind with Leon Gaumond · Meeting of July 16, 2026
Weston Select Board appoints new committee members and acts on street safety at July 14 meeting. The board appointed Claire Huang Feng to the Council on Aging, selecting her over fellow candidate David Wong, and named Olga Aginski and Lee Crockett to fill two vacancies on the Traffic and Sidewalk Committee, bringing that body to full membership. The board adopted crosswalk modifications at the Wellesley at Maples Road intersection and approved a no-parking order and vegetation removal on Cherrybrook Road, going further by directing the Department of Public Works to construct a 50-foot sidewalk at the request of area neighbors.
A proposed Hillcrest Restricted Parking Zone was taken under advisement after discussion with abutters, with the Weston Police Department asked to work toward an amicable resolution before the matter returns for a vote. The board also received a progress update from Brian Pessini and the Friends of the JST on construction and possible lease amendments, and met in executive session to discuss a potential appeal of a decision on the 518 South Ave 40B affordable housing project.
