Weston Select Board approves sidewalk study, sets level-service budget baseline

WESTON — October 31, 2025 — Weston Select Board launches FY2026 budget season with a level-service directive and advances a Wellesley Street sidewalk study. At its October 28 meeting, the board instructed Town Manager Leon Goemind to prepare a level-service operating budget for presentation in May 2026, with any requests for expanded or new services to be submitted separately in writing. The board also gave its concurrence to proceed with an initial study of the Wellesley Street Sidewalk Replacement Project. In a session Goemind described as "spirited," board members questioned a prospective restaurateur appearing remotely about expectations surrounding the JST property, with the Friends of the JST also present; Goemind indicated further discussions on that deal are expected soon. The board additionally designated Tom Palmer to lead the Select Board's presentation at an upcoming all-committee meeting at Regis College, and ended the session in executive session on the Zero-Hobbs property.
