WESTON — December 19, 2018 — Weston Planning Board advances Love Lane subdivision and rail trail parking toward January votes. The board worked through a final redline review of design guidelines for the two-lot flexible subdivision at 98 Love Lane, reaching consensus on building height language, roofing materials, and driveway character while agreeing to request a short written exhibit from the Historical Commission identifying the significant architectural features of the existing colonial home before draft decisions are issued. On the rail trail, a proposal to build 12 parking spaces at the Concord Road intersection cleared its public hearing after the number of trees to be removed was cut from nine to seven following a December 11 site walk; the board conditioned approval on the consultant providing written tree protection specifications for inclusion in bid documents. The board also gave conceptual approval for either three transplanted conifers or a cedar stake fence — or both — as rear-lot screening at an abutting residential property, requiring decorative metal rather than chain link for any fence section visible from the street.
