Weston Planning Board Overhauls Mitigation Draft for 751 Boston Post Road Project
WESTON — June 13, 2019 — Weston Planning Board spends two hours editing mitigation framework for 182-unit Mill Creek development at 751 Boston Post Road. In a working session on June 13, board members reviewed a draft mitigation document compiled by staff from months of working-group discussions, debating how to present agreed-upon design changes and pending conditions to the Zoning Board of Appeals ahead of its July 8 hearing. The board agreed to consolidate all mitigations into a single list accompanied by a separate timing chart, rather than splitting items into multiple sub-categories that members feared would confuse ZBA members reading the document fresh. Discussions ranged from removing third-floor apartment units and deferring to the fire department on an Elliston Road emergency access gate, to requesting dark-sky lighting, EV charging stations, a 40-decibel property-line noise limit for rooftop HVAC units, and an organic landscaping program reflecting Weston's existing character. No formal votes were taken; the board plans to review a revised document at its next regular meeting before submission.
