Weston Planning Board Elects New Chair, Approves Camp Permits and Scenic Road Actions
WESTON — May 15, 2019 — Weston Planning Board elects Tony Flynn chair and moves through six permit cases in a reorganized first session. Flynn, a four-year board member, was elected unanimously at the May 15 meeting and immediately outlined roughly ten procedural reforms, including moving meetings to Thursdays at 7 p.m. with a hard 9:30 p.m. stop, introducing standard permit checklists, and shifting site visits from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Three summer day-camp operators received or advanced toward special permits: Be Ahead of the Game LLC was capped at 40 campers for a three-year term at the Woodland School site, Global Premier Soccer was capped at 50 campers also for three years, and the Meadowbrook Day Camp sought five-year renewal for up to 400 average daily campers. The Hazel Hotchkis Whiteman Tennis Center, whose 1968 special permit limits membership to 300 families, advanced a request for 50 summer-only memberships pending a traffic comparison from the town's consulting engineer, with a decision set for June 5. The board also unanimously approved scenic road actions at 47 Ash Street and 441 Glen Road, explicitly barring any reconstruction of a farmers wall at the Glen Road property.
