Weston Planning Board Continues Two Scenic Road Reviews, Sets December 20 Votes

WESTON — December 6, 2017 — Weston Planning Board continued two scenic road site plan reviews and approved decisions for two other properties at its December 6 meeting. The board voted unanimously to approve a certificate of action for 415 Concord Road and a site plan amendment for Sunday Woods, with conditions including a clarified driveway specification requiring 12 feet of asphalt flanked by one foot of structural gravel on each side — a formulation the board also imposed on Two Fields Pond Road and 12 Autumn Road as it pushed back on fire department requests for 14-foot widths. "I just don't see the rationale for the 14 feet," a member said of the Two Fields Pond Road driveway. The board also voted unanimously to add a $50 advertising fee to its rules and regulations for all applications requiring a public hearing, deposited into a dedicated revenue account. At 12 Autumn Road, where a proposed house sits within four inches of the 37-foot maximum ridge height and essentially on its setback lines, the board warned applicants that foundation errors have previously required demolition and reconstruction on Weston projects. A mid-construction foundation complication at 346 Highland Street — where both retained historic fieldstone walls proved structurally unsound and were replaced with concrete — was continued pending a mock-up of proposed stone veneer.
