Weston Planning Board Approves Four Land-Use Certificates, Backs Conservation Bill

WESTON — December 12, 2017 — Weston Planning Board approves four land-use certificates and endorses state conservation bill. The board voted unanimously at its December 12 meeting to approve scenic road site plan certificates for Fields Pond Road and 12 Autumn Road, a day camp certificate for the Cambridge School of Weston capping campers at 110 and prohibiting amplified sound and nighttime activities past 10 p.m., and a generator installation at 78 Chestnut Street. A related driveway memorandum for 78 Chestnut was held pending a written legal opinion from town counsel. The board also unanimously approved a letter to state Senator Michael Barrett urging his support for the Public Lands Preservation Act, pending in the Massachusetts Senate Ways and Means Committee, which would require municipalities to provide replacement land before transferring or changing the use of Article 97 conservation properties; the board asked members to call Barrett's office individually at 617-722-1572, extension 1587.
