Weston Planning Board Continues Scotch Pine Road Home Hearing, Demands Revised Plans

WESTON — September 5, 2018 — Weston Planning Board continues major home review and two stone wall hearings at September meeting. The board heard a full presentation on a proposed 11,151-square-foot brick residence at 755 Scotch Pine Road, continuing the hearing to September 26 after pressing applicant architect Marcus Leisstein, engineer Jason Maloy, and landscape architect Griffin Marty — representing owner David Brussano — on drainage impacts to a neighboring pond, removal of approximately 190 trees, a retaining wall and privacy fence combination reaching roughly 11 feet, and meadow screening. The board's landscape consultant said the site plan needed "more sensitive" integration with the existing landscape: "I don't see why it's necessary to put a fence of trees blocking that." Two scenic road hearings were also continued — a private stone wall repair at 433 Concord Road to September 26 for a draft decision vote, and a DPW proposal to replace 85 linear feet of granite curbing at Concord Road and Merriam Street with natural stone, continued to October 17 pending engineering specifications and a site walk by board members. The board accepted as-built tree replacement work at 37 Willard Road and conditioned future removal of two declining red pines on planting a minimum two-inch caliper ornamental deciduous tree near the driveway.
