Weston Planning Board Continues Hearings on Two Large Home Projects

WESTON — July 11, 2018 — Weston Planning Board continues hearings on two large home projects, opens historic subdivision case. The board deferred action on site plan and RGFA applications at both 18 Skating Pond Road and 104 Meadowbrook Road to its July 25 meeting after extensive technical review, including disputes over GIS-derived cross-sections showing the 104 Meadowbrook proposal — a roughly 9,850-square-foot shingle-and-stone house with retaining walls up to 10 feet high — against an abutting one-story cape across the narrow private road. Abutter Lea Smith of 105 Meadowbrook told the board the project would leave garages "setting directly facing us" and raised concerns about construction traffic on a road she called already congested and prone to flooding. The board also opened a flexible subdivision hearing at 98 Love Lane, where owners Rob and Mary Provenzano seek to split their 3.5-acre lot while preserving a 1904 house; former owner Pam Fox said the subdivision "offers the best chance that the historic house will be preserved into the future." The board approved site plan amendments at 49 Lawrence unanimously and deferred a Church Street tree removal vote to September.
