WESTON — July 2, 2025 — Weston Planning Board closes pool-project hearing and debates tiered outdoor lighting limits. The board voted unanimously to close the public hearing on an in-ground pool, pool house, and hardscape project at 144 Beaver Road, with a formal decision scheduled for the July 16 meeting. Chair Leslie Glynn and assistant town planner Justine Cook led a discussion on draft rules that would reduce the town's total exterior lumen cap from 22,000 to 15,000, but members could not settle on whether to set a single limit or create at least two tiers based on house size, after staff data found no statistical correlation between gross floor area and lumen levels across 158 homes reviewed since 1998. Glynn warned the board needs to finalize the rules before any 3A multifamily projects enter site plan review: "At this point I could not clearly explain to an applicant why it's done one way versus another."
