Weston plan committee sets June 2 launch for three community subcommittees
WESTON — May 12, 2025 — Weston's Unified Plan Committee organized three subcommittees and set a June 30 first deadline at its May 12 meeting. Chair Danielle led the session, which established subcommittees for Planning, Resources (renamed from "Amenities" after a member objected the original title "sounds like the Four Seasons"), and Municipal Services, each tasked with identifying three to five key issues for the town's comprehensive plan. The committee agreed to a core-group-first outreach strategy, reaching chairs of relevant town boards before opening broader community invitations, with letters drafted by staffer Ema ready to distribute. Governance Study Committee member Michael reported that his panel found "three versus five is not a significant factor in the overall governance of the town," and the committee agreed governance findings would be folded into the final plan as an appendix rather than driving near-term subcommittee work. The next full UPC meeting is scheduled for June 2 at 4 p.m., with plan completion targeted for early 2026.
