WESTON — September 19, 2023 — Weston Conservation Commission renews a Ripley Lane trail license and defers an e-bike decision pending a joint summit with the trails association. The commission voted unanimously September 19 to extend for three years its revocable trail license with 44 Ripley Lane owner Jamie Garrity, which had been set to expire September 25, adding new language explicitly granting public access over the maintained trail segment. Chair Rees Tulloss pushed for the clause, saying it "ought to just make that clear," and Garrity confirmed his acceptance by email during the meeting. The commission also issued a certificate of compliance for a completed native-planting remodel at 676 Wellesley Street and continued a notice of intent for a raise-and-rebuild at 21 Warren Place — where the proposed house footprint clips roughly 9.5 percent of a 43,000-square-foot riverfront area — to October 17, pending stormwater and septic approvals. A formal vote on allowing class one pedal-assist e-bikes on town trails was deferred to November or December, after a planned joint trail management summit with the Weston Forest and Trail Association.
