Weston Conservation Commission recommends Glenn Butcher for appointment to board

WESTON — June 21, 2022 — Weston Conservation Commission unanimously recommends Glenn Butcher to fill board vacancy. Chair Rees Tulloss and member Ellen Freeman Roth interviewed Butcher, a Vertex Pharmaceuticals employee and former South Mountain Conservancy board member from New Jersey, at the June 21 meeting before voting four to zero to forward his name to the Select Board for appointment. The commission also issued certificates of compliance for three properties — 85 Newton Street, 11 Ridgeway Road (two separate filings dating to 2000 and 2014), and 39 Pine Street — and closed hearings with standard orders of conditions for 58 River Road and the Weston Memorial Pool at 6 Alphabet Lane, which is slated for filter replacement, a new entry building, and expanded amenities pending a September 13 town meeting appropriation. Recreation Director Chris Fitzgerald said the department, which runs on an enterprise budget, aims to reopen the pool "by the second weekend in June of 2023." A notice of resource area delineation for 225 Winter Street was continued to July 12 after outside wetland consultant Pat Garner raised issues requiring expert-to-expert discussion.
