Weston Conservation Commission issues three compliance certificates, adopts e-signature policy

WESTON — July 12, 2022 — Weston Conservation Commission unanimously approved three certificates of compliance and formally adopted an electronic-signature policy at its July 12 meeting. Conservation Administrator Jordan McCarron told the five-member commission that a 2020 certificate of vote authorizing e-signatures had lapsed with the end of the COVID-19 state of emergency, prompting two remedial votes: one ratifying all documents McCarron signed between May 11, 2021 and July 26, 2022 under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 110G, and a second authorizing electronic and wet-ink signatures to carry equal legal weight going forward. The commission also approved an amended order of conditions for 115 Country Street after builder John McGee self-reported that a contractor had expanded riverfront disturbance from just under 5,000 square feet to over 8,000 — saying "there's no good reason for it outside of I didn't manage the installation of the ECB." The amendment requires a restoration and landscape plan due by the end of July, two years of monitoring, and invasive plant management through the monitoring period. A land maintenance contract for the current fiscal year went to Leone Landscaping, edging out longtime contractor Jim Anza by roughly $1,500.
