Weston Conservation Commission Continues Golf Club Renovation Hearing to April 14

WESTON — March 31, 2026 — Weston Conservation Commission continues Weston Golf Club renovation hearing and approves four other environmental permits. At its March 31 remote meeting, the commission voted 5-0-1 to continue the Notice of Intent for the 132-acre golf course at 275 Meadowbrook Road — the club's first comprehensive renovation since 1965 — to April 14 after the applicant had not yet received a DEP file number; Commissioner Eileen Fava abstained citing her club membership. Kelly Durfee Cardoza of Avalon Consulting Group described a project that would remove 2,202 square feet of impervious surface from Bordering Vegetated Wetland and 11 trees within jurisdictional areas, with seven trees planted as mitigation; the Cambridge Water Department, whose public supply watershed includes the site's streams, had signed off on the redevelopment standards. The commission voted 6-0 to close hearings and issue Orders of Conditions for a minimal-impact home addition at 38 October Lane, and 5-1 to approve a five-year invasive aquatic plant management program on the approximately one-acre Tan Pond at 95 Rockport Road using glyphosate, diquat, flumioxazin, and a copper-based algaecide. It also unanimously extended a three-year license through December 31, 2028, for Turner Frankosky's perennial agroforestry pilot at the Sears Land.
