Weston Conservation Commission approves three RDAs, conditionally OKs French Road driveway

WESTON — July 26, 2022 — Weston Conservation Commission approves three septic-related RDAs and conditionally clears a contested driveway expansion at its July 26 meeting. Chair Rees Tulloss led the meeting without Conservation Agent Jordan McCarron for much of the evening, introducing new member Glenn Butcher in his first session. The commission issued negative category three determinations for septic replacements at 526 South Avenue and 8 Legion Road — both involving tributaries to the Cambridge water supply, which signed off through engineer Jamie O'Connell — and a negative category two for stoop and walkway replacements at Stonegate Condominiums on Jericho Road, where three native trees are to be planted in exchange for removals within the riverfront zone. A minor plan change at 7 French Road was approved unanimously but only on condition that an approximately 430-square-foot driveway turnaround be built with porous pavers and that stormwater engineer Richard Sweeney approve an amended permit before any work begins; neighbor Vincent Agnello of 11 French Road, a 50-year resident, raised flooding concerns the commission acknowledged but said fell outside its jurisdiction. The commission also extended Solitude Lake Management's aquatic vegetation order at Pierce Pond through September 16, 2025, and continued a resource area delineation hearing for 225 Winter Street — where applicant Cutting Edge Homes agreed to accept consultant Pat Garner's conservative mean high water line — to August 9.
