Select Board extends tax, dog licensing deadlines amid COVID-19 surge

WESTON — April 21, 2020 — Weston Select Board pushes tax deadline to June 1 and clashes with ConCom over emergency trail orders. At an April 21 online meeting, the board unanimously extended real estate and personal property tax deadlines to June 1 under Chapter 53 of the Acts of 2020, waived interest on late excise, water and sewer payments through June 30, and pushed the annual dog licensing deadline from April 30 to July 31. Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director John Soar reported Weston is mid-surge, with the Board of Health tracking 77 cases — 56 lab-confirmed and 21 probable — of which 37 remain under active follow-up.
