Planning Board defers three site-plan decisions, presses applicants on lighting and trees

WESTON — February 26, 2020 — Weston Planning Board defers three site-plan decisions and deadlocks on a hydrology baseline. The board sent the Stonegate condominium lighting plan back for programmable dimming and motion sensors before a March 11 vote, after trustee Sheila Cummings revised her proposal to 54 fixtures at 2,160 lumens each. Applicants Larry and Mary Louise Krakauer were told to recess the garage four to six feet and narrow the driveway at their 8,512-square-foot Beach Road rebuild, though the board accepted removal of a healthy oak that would cost 37 percent of the home's solar output. At 13 Pigeon Hill Lane, attorney Matthew Watsky told the board "I can't commit to having hydrology analysis done" without consulting town counsel, prolonging an enforcement-tinged review of unauthorized tree removal and neighbor flooding. Neighbor Emily Karian told the board, "We just feel like there's a huge lack of trust at this point."
