Planning Board continues two house hearings, citing impervious cover and tree loss

WESTON — September 23, 2020 — Weston Planning Board sends Walker Street and Colchester Road houses back for further revision. The board on Sept. 23 continued public hearings on a 9,777-square-foot house at 95 Walker St. and a 4,397-square-foot house at 5 Colchester Road, both unanimously continued to Oct. 7. Chair Alicia Primer pressed the Walker Street team on impervious cover, saying the rear patio was "almost three quarters of the footprint of the house," and engineer Jason Lavoie of WSP agreed to narrow the secondary driveway to 12 feet and add pervious pavers. At 5 Colchester Road, abutter Nathaniel Heald of 118 Conant Road said the new ridge would sit only four feet below his own despite a base 18 feet lower; consulting engineer Dave Conway told a separate abutter the project's 15,000-gallon subsurface stormwater system "won't make anything worse." The board also welcomed new member Alex Selvig and approved tree-removal amendments at 512 Glen Road, 18 Skating Pond Road and 45 Hidden Road.
