Planning Board continues North Avenue subdivision, Church Street home hearings to July 15

WESTON — July 1, 2020 — Weston Planning Board continues hearings on two major home projects amid tree and height concerns. The board on July 1 voted 4-0 to continue public hearings on the six-lot flexible subdivision at 576 North Ave. and a proposed 8,000-square-foot home at 36 Church St. to July 15. Engineer Rob said the North Avenue flexible plan would preserve 244 trees versus 34 under a by-right plan and cut impervious road area by more than 50 percent, while abutter Lynn Bauer asked the developer to move the lot three house off her property line. At 36 Church Street, Chair Leslie Glynn questioned a roof ridge sitting roughly three feet higher than the existing house: "It sits high on a knoll. The higher it up, the more prominent it is." Member Sue Zacharias pressed the team to salvage a historic canopy element the Historical Commission had asked owners Lingyan Lu and Tong Wang to preserve. The board also approved an Approval Not Required plan dividing the Henderson House lot at 99 Westcliff Road and finalized a scenic-road decision for 183 Ridgeway.
