Planning Board closes 576 North Avenue hearing, approves six-lot subdivision

WESTON — September 9, 2020 — Weston Planning Board closes 576 North Ave. hearing and approves six-lot subdivision. The board unanimously approved the Certificates of Action for both the definitive subdivision plan and the flexible subdivision special permit, conditioning lot release on dedication of a trail easement to Weston Forest and Trail and adding as-built requirements from the Conservation Agent. Member Leslie Glynn pressed for additional tree preservation on Lots 1, 5 and 6; landscape architect Mike Nowicki said five or six ash trees flagged for removal were in "poor health and poor structural condition" per a July 15 arborist report. Abutter Henry Tiedemann told the board his negotiations with the applicant for water and gas hookups had collapsed after he received a "nasty letter" from attorney Jay Tallerman. The board also approved a Merriam Street boardwalk extension over Cherry Brook and released the dormant Zero Orchard Avenue lot from a 1999 subdivision.
