Planning Board approves 79 Black Oak Road permit, continues camp hearing

WESTON — April 29, 2020 — Weston Planning Board chair withdraws from re-election as board clears Black Oak Road expansion. Chair Tony announced he will pull his name from the May ballot, citing the candidacy of Alex Selvig, the COVID-related delay of his shared-shuttle commuter pilot, and his intention to volunteer on coronavirus recovery work. The board then voted 5-0 to approve a 773-square-foot interior expansion at 79 Black Oak Road, a 2018 home built at 5,996 square feet of RGFA — just under the threshold triggering review. The decision requires the owner to cap the in-ground irrigation system on both sides of the backflow preventer, plant three additional evergreens, and submit to annual inspections "to ensure continued conformity to the special conditions." Resident Terry Eastman of 50 Pigeon Hill Road called Tony "an extraordinary leader." A Nike Basketball Camps special permit at 45 Georgian Road was continued to May 6 after members called the proposed drop-off plan "untenable."
