Conservation Commission approves Scotch Pine extension and Boston Post Road septic

WESTON — May 12, 2020 — Weston Conservation Commission sacrifices wetlands bylaw study to ease FY21 budget pressure. Meeting remotely May 12, the six-member commission agreed to let agent Michele Grzenda negotiate a $10,000 line for studying a local wetlands bylaw out of the proposed budget, preserving instead a $10,000 Case Estates maintenance increase and roughly $8,000 in joint fire road work with Weston Forest and Trail and the fire department. "It feels kind of tone deaf to move ahead with that at this point," one member said, citing pandemic constraints on public outreach. The commission also extended an Order of Resource Area Delineation at 75 Scotch Pine Road for two years, issued a negative determination for a Title 5 septic replacement at 661 Boston Post Road contingent on Cambridge Water Department signoff, and licensed Waltham Fields Community Farm to cultivate three sections of town-owned Wellington Farms for $550 annually beginning June 1.
