Weston School Committee retreat sets governance priorities and annual goals. Chair Daina Selvig led the full-day working session to address governance practices and communications strategy. The committee established protocols requiring meeting materials one week in advance and deferring items if materials are not submitted on time.
Members set individual goals on community engagement, student achievement oversight, cost-effectiveness analysis, and proactive community engagement. The committee agreed to request space in Westword for brief meeting summaries and to ask former member Jeff Lucas about assisting with the town report. Superintendent Dr.
Karen Zaleski presented fiscal 2027 priorities on the District Action Plan and supporting new administrators.
