WESTON — March 3, 2021 — Weston Planning Board reopens 18 Columbine drainage hearing after neighbor testimony. Chair Leslie Glynn led the March 3 board in deferring a decision on a garage-addition site-plan review at 18 Columbine Road and setting a new public hearing for March 31, citing post-closing written testimony from neighbor John McNeil proposing a drywell. Members said the underlying runoff dispute had outgrown their expertise; Stephen Oppenheimer demanded town engineer Steve Fogg or stormwater engineer Richard Sweeney appear to explain DPW Director Tom Cullen's finding that no town-wide fix is warranted. Peer-review engineer Dave Conway will review the town's South Side drainage study before March 31. The board also previewed roughly 10 zoning strategies from JM Goldson consultant Jennifer Goldson — including a historic-reuse overlay targeting the two-acre, 30-bedroom Drabbington Inn — and floated a 400-square-foot cap on accessory pool houses after resident Susan Kennenberg's assessor data turned up a 3,800-square-foot pool house on Robin Road.
