Weston Planning Board Approves 40B Comments, Conditions Lansdowne Farm Utility Work
WESTON — June 19, 2019 — Weston Planning Board conditions Lansdowne Farm utility work and rejects full driveway widening at June 19 meeting. The board, chaired by Leslie Glynn, approved Planning Board comments to the Zoning Board of Appeals on the Mill Creek 40B comprehensive permit application at 751 Boston Post Road, accepting roughly half of the applicant's responses to prior suggestions including downlit signage and a reminder against blanket zoning waivers. For Lansdowne Farm, where a mid-July road-paving moratorium created a hard deadline, the board capped stone wall removal at a single 10-foot opening for the water line, required all stones to be photographed, numbered, and replaced by a qualified dry-laid stonemason, and declined to approve widening the farm's driveway entrance from 24 to 30 feet — agreeing only to clearing the two feet of wall already damaged by a school bus. The board also unanimously approved a special permit certificate of action for Smash Volleyball's recreational day camp at Regis College, serving 100 to 150 participants per week, and voted that proposed landscape changes to the Highland Meadows Drive north entrance did not constitute a major special permit amendment.
