Weston committee to coordinate signage for Gun Club Lane after emergency-access warnings

WESTON — February 10, 2021 — Weston Traffic and Sidewalk Committee promises Gun Club Lane action before spring trail crowds return. Chair Jay Mosca told residents the committee will coordinate with Forest and Trails on permanent signage — likely mounted on roadside trees to preserve roadway width — and with the Conservation Commission on whether limited head-in parking can be added near the rail-trail access. Residents Andy Blanchard of 52 Gun Club Lane and a neighbor at No. 68 said there have been multiple emergency calls on the private way since Dec. 28 and more than a dozen police calls for blocked access. Capt. Kelly said temporary no-parking signs are free at the station but acknowledged drivers move cones. Member Rich called it "a little alarming" that residents are confronting parkers themselves. The committee also heard a Weston Ahead climate-plan briefing from Phoebe Byerly and set its next meeting for March 17.
