WESTON — Town officials are awaiting word on whether the operators behind The Woods restaurant at the Josiah Smith Tavern met a Monday, July 6 deadline to submit financial records to the Select Board, a requirement tied to the fate of their lease.

The Town Manager's Office released its newest newsletter issue this week via the town's News Flash system, according to the town's News Flash feed. Details of the newsletter's contents were not immediately available beyond the release notice itself.
Separately, the Select Board's ongoing dispute with the Friends of the Josiah Smith Tavern over the operation of The Woods restaurant remains a live issue in town. The Board previously sent a letter demanding the group submit outstanding financial and other documents by Monday, July 6, or face termination of the lease agreement — a deadline that fell just before this reporting period, according to the Weston Observer newsletter.
