WESTON — The Recreation Commission advanced a $500,000-plus playground redesign and moved toward dog park feasibility. Vice-Chair Jessica Catlin reported that designers have worked with the playground committee on equipment and cost estimates; the commission will seek Community Preservation Committee funding for construction. Director Chris Fitzgerald presented four potential dog park sites, all subject to conservation restrictions, and will pursue $50,000 in CPC design support.

Fitzgerald analyzed Burchard Park bathroom operations costs at $20,000 to $25,000 annually, with potential revenue from court fees up to $26,687. The commission directed Fitzgerald to explore budget inclusion with the Town Manager. The FY26 budget closed with a $100,000-plus surplus.
