Planning Board trims lighting on three Weston home projects

WESTON — December 11, 2019 — Weston Planning Board trims lighting on three home projects and pushes back on six attic skylights. At 140 Country Drive, the board accepted a 20,160-lumen dark-sky plan tied to a new pool but required smaller fixtures atop two driveway pillars and additional native screening; a decision is set for Jan. 8. At 162 Highland Street, owner Wayne Bloom won six dark-sky post lights capped at four feet after designer Jeff Plank showed total site lumens dropping from "21,000-plus" to about 19,000. At 415 Concord Road, builder Michael Collins reported a net 1,935-lumen increase to 19,315 — still under the 22,000 cap — to be handled by memo. The board told 15 Evergreen Road's builder that six rear-roof skylights looked "industrial" and signaled comfort only with three or four.
