Weston Planning Board approves removal of hazardous tree on Chestnut Street. The board voted unanimously to remove the tree at 150 Chestnut and unanimously requested the Department of Public Works pursue danger mitigation at 100 Chestnut after two certified arborists determined both posed public safety risks. Chair Leslie Glynn noted significant damage and decay at the base of the 150 Chestnut tree warranting removal.
The board also addressed concerns about whether the DPW's interest in acquiring a stormwater easement at 35 Bemis Street constituted a conflict of interest, concluding the department's involvement was routine procedure, though the board will discuss the matter further at its January 28 strategy meeting.
