Merriam Fund trustees adopt new grant approval framework

WESTON — Merriam Fund trustees establish formal grant procedures and welcome new members. Chair Christopher Palmer and the board approved a new grant approval framework allowing two trustees to approve awards up to $1,200, with larger grants requiring broader board review and ratification. Year-to-date donations reached $29,469.13, a record significantly exceeding prior highs.
The fund reported $6,370.90 in grants paid year-to-date and $17,000 available as of March 31. Pending trustees Keith Hartt, a retired mathematician, and Emile Baker, a clinical social worker, were welcomed pending Select Board approval in May.
