Weston Finance Committee reviews FY27 budgets for police, fire, and recreation departments. The committee heard presentations from Police Chief Linehan, Recreation Director Chris Fitzgerald, and Fire Chief Woodside on their proposed operating budgets. Chief Linehan requested funding for an additional patrol officer to address overtime demands from recent supervisory promotions and presented plans for a new license-plate reader system following the failure of a prior Motorola contract.
Fire Chief Woodside highlighted equipment costs driven by updated state regulations and challenges with apparatus procurement lead times. The Committee will continue budget review at future meetings through March.
