Weston Select Board endorses $41 million fire station modernization after two-year review. The Fire Station Working Group, meeting 37 times between December 2023 and December 2025, recommended consolidating operations through a new Wellesley Street primary station, renovating Town Center, and decommissioning the 60-year-old South Avenue facility. Value engineering reduced projected costs from $52 million to $41 million.
The board voted unanimously to dissolve the working group and expressed support for a $5 million design-fund request at spring Town Meeting. Separately, Weston voters approved expanding the Select Board to five members by a margin of 553 to 294 in a special election held the same day.
